Lionel Sow, born in 1977, is a French choral conductor and chorus master who began as a violinist at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Paris and Fresnes before turning to choral conducting. He studied at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Paris, earning first prizes in harmony, counterpoint, fugue, Gregorian chant direction, and choral conducting. In 2002, Sow joined the Maîtrise de Notre-Dame de Paris as assistant to Nicole Corti, and served as its musical director from 2006 to 2014. He led the Chœur de l'Orchestre de Paris from 2011 to December 2021. Sow also began teaching choral conducting at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Lyon in 2017. In 2021, he was appointed artistic director of the NFM Choir in Wrocław, and later chorus master of the Chœur de Radio France, with the latter role beginning in September 2022.
