Since her debut on the opera stage in the early 2010s, French soprano Vannina Santoni has worked her way up to the greatest roles in the repertoire. Born in Volpajola, Corsica, in 1987, she studied opera singing at the Conservatoire Georges Bizet, then from 2006 to 2010 at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris and joined the Maîtrise de Radio-France, in addition to piano, violin and dance lessons. Her debut in Mozart operas at the Aix-en-Provence Festival and in Italy was followed by appearances on the greatest French and European stages, in a wide range of roles by Bizet, Gounod, Donizetti, J. Strauss, Puccini and Massenet. Micaëla in Carmen and Pamina in The Magic Flute at the Paris Opéra, she took part in the premiere of Philippe Hurel's Pigeons d'argile at the Capitole de Toulouse, and performs oratorios and sacred music by Brahms, Verdi and Schubert. In 2022, she took part in the symphonic recording of Debussy's Cantates pour le prix de Rome conducted by Pascal Rophé, and performed the female lead in the critically acclaimed opera Pelléas et Mélisande with Les Siècles conducted by François-Xavier Roth. She continues her exploration of Debussy's repertoire with the melody recital C'Est l'Extase - La Mer (2023), conducted by Mikko Franck with the Orchestre philharmonique de Radio France. In 2024, Vannina Santoni sings the lead role in Massenet's opera Grisélidis, conducted by Jean-Marie Zeitouni, who is also the conductor of her varied recital Par Amour, released in 2025.
