Frank Blackfire, born Frank Gosdzik on February 24, 1966, in Essen, Germany, is a guitarist known for his work with the thrash metal bands Sodom and Kreator. Inspired by an AC/DC concert at the age of eleven, he began playing guitar and formed his first band, Midia. In 1986, he joined Sodom, adopting the stage name Blackfire. During his time with the band, he contributed to releases including the EP Expurse of Sodomy (1987), Persecution Mania (1987), and Agent Orange (1989). Following his departure from Sodom in 1989 due to personal differences, he joined Kreator, with whom he recorded Coma of Souls (1990), Renewal (1992), and Cause for Conflict (1995). In January 2018, Blackfire returned to Sodom.
