The Bow Gamelan was a British experimental music group from London, established in 1983. Founded by Richard Wilson, Paul Burwell, and Anne Bean, the group was recognized for integrating elements of gamelan music into site-specific, theatrical performances. These experiences sought to transcend traditional musical boundaries by adapting to unique environments. A notable example of their work includes performances at Three Mills on the River Lea in the Borough of Newham. Throughout their career, Wilson, Burwell, and Bean performed in various novel venues across the United Kingdom. The band remained active until 1990, at which point the members disbanded.
