His Hero Is Gone was an American hardcore/crust band formed in 1995 in Memphis, Tennessee. The group emerged from members of Copout, Man With Gun Lives Here, and FaceDown. Their initial releases included the demo Medicine and the EP The Dead of Night in Eight Movements (1996). His Hero Is Gone's lineup evolved over time. Pat Davis left in 1997 and was replaced by Yannick Lorrain. The band released their first studio album, Fifteen Counts of Arson, followed by the EP Monuments to Thieves (1997) and the split EP with Union of Uranus. Their studio album, The Plot Sickens: Enslavement Redefined, was released in 1998. The band disbanded after a final concert in Memphis in 1999. Despite their short career, His Hero Is Gone's influence on the punk hardcore scene is significant, with their music addressing themes of antiautoritarisme and anticonsumérisme.
