Shanir Ezra Blumenkranz, born in 1975, is an American bassist and oud player. He studied at the Manhattan School of Music, the Rimon School of Music in Israel, and holds a Bachelor of Music in Performance from Berklee College of Music in Boston. Blumenkranz began his career performing extensively with various ensembles, including Cyro Baptista's Banquet of the Spirits and Daniel Zamir's Satlah. In 2012, he released his debut album as a leader, Abraxas: Book of Angels Volume 19, featuring compositions by John Zorn. Blumenkranz has collaborated with notable artists such as Christina Courtin, Eyal Maoz, and Sean Noonan's Brewed by Noon.
