Brontide, a British instrumental rock band formed in 2008 in the United Kingdom, consisted of former I Was a Cub Scout drummer William Bowerman, bassist Nathan Fairweather, and guitarist Tim Hancock, all linked to La Roux, Rolo Tomassi, and Dua Lipa's band. The group debuted with "Bob Munden" on the Holy Monsters split EP in 2009, followed by the self‑titled Brontide EP. Their first album, Sans Souci, was released in 2011, and the second, Artery, came out in 2014, praised by Clash and DIY for its nuance and melody. Commitments to side projects led to an April 2017 split, but in August 2024, the band announced a reunion and new material on Instagram, reaffirming their place in the math‑rock, progressive‑rock, post‑rock, and post‑hardcore scenes.
