Jessica Hernandez & The Deltas, an American soul/pop band from Detroit, Michigan, was formed in 2010 by lead singer Jessica Hernandez. Hernandez grew up in West Bloomfield and began singing in choirs from a young age. She started her music career performing in rock bands while attending college in Chicago. The band self-released their first EP Weird Looking Women in Too Many Clothes in 2010. After signing with Instant Records, they released Secret Evil (2014), which included the single "Sorry I Stole Your Man". They gained significant attention after performing on Late Show with David Letterman that November. In 2017, they released their second album, Telephone/Teléfono, featuring bilingual tracks. The band's former guitarist Michael Krygier tragically took his own life in November 2017, leading to the establishment of a musical scholarship in his memory.
