Kid Sam is an Australian rock duo from Melbourne, Victoria, consisting of cousins Kieran Ryan and Kishore Ryan. The duo performed their first show in January 2006 and began receiving airplay on the youth radio station Triple J’s Unearthed program in 2008. That same year, they collaborated with the band Psuche to release the split single “Tell Tell” (2008) through the label Two Bright Lakes. They followed with their self-titled debut album, Kid Sam (2009), which earned nominations for both the J Award and the Australian Music Prize. In 2010, the band completed a national headline tour before performing their final concert of their initial run in August 2010 at the Palais Theatre, supporting the groups Grizzly Bear and Here We Go Magic. Following a period of hiatus during which Kishore Ryan performed with Otouto and Kieran Ryan released a solo album, the cousins reunited for a show in October 2022 and subsequently scheduled a formal reunion concert at the Northcote Social Club in Melbourne on September 20, 2024.
