Lilium is a French-American musical project formed in 1984 by French musician Pascal Humbert. Initially a solo project, the endeavor began as home recordings and informal studio projects while he was based in Paris. In 1992, he relocated to Los Angeles and joined forces with drummer Jean-Yves Tola and singer-songwriter David Eugene Edwards to form the group 16 Horsepower. The first album under the project name, Transmission of All the Goodbyes, was released in 2000 on Glitterhouse Records, featuring dark, instrumental rock experiments. In 2003, the project evolved into a collaborative studio effort with Tola and guest musicians for the second album, Short Stories. Following the disbandment of 16 Horsepower in 2005, the group expanded to include Bruno Green and singer Kal Cahoone. The project's third album, Felt, was finished in 2009 and released in 2010 on Glitterhouse Records.
