Aviador Dro, a Spanish electronic music group from Madrid, was founded in 1979. The original lineup included Servando Carballar on keyboards, Arturo Lanz on vocals, Gabriel Riaza on bass, and Juan Carlos Sastre on guitars. Their debut single, "La Chica De Plexiglás", was released by Movieplay in 1980. The group faced internal conflicts leading some members to leave and form Esplendor Geométrico. Despite these challenges and amid other lineup changes, Aviador Dro continued releasing music, including their first album Alas Sobre El Mundo (1982) and others like Cyberiada (1997), Mecanisburgo (2001), and Candidato Futurista (2007). The band is regarded as a trailblazer of electronic pop in Spain, influenced by American bands like Devo and The Residents, as well as the German group Kraftwerk.
