Cryptal Darkness, an Australian doom metal band from Melbourne, was formed in 1993. The group initially started as a grindcore act and self-released their first album, Cryptal Darkness, in 1994. Subsequent releases include Chamber of Gore (1994), Demo '94 (1994), and Last Cries of A Dying World (1995). In 1996, they released "Descend Into Thy Grave", followed by Endless Tears in 1997. The band's final release under the name Cryptal Darkness was the album Chapter II The Fallen in 2001. The band disbanded in early 2003, with members Mark Kelson and Chris Burton forming The Eternal.
