Karaba is a German instrumental band from Munich. Formed in 2012, the group originally consisted of Andreas Kainz, Marcel Maier, Louis Bankavs and Jakob Thun. The ensemble’s musical style is influenced by the group Embryo and incorporates elements of krautrock and jazz rock, as well as early psychedelic rock and the Canterbury sound. The band released its eponymous debut studio album, Karaba, as a self-production in 2014. Their recording history also included the studio album Schwester Mondreal (2018), issued through the label Klangschutz Schallplatten, and the live recording Live in Vienna (2020). In 2019, the group achieved international recognition with the track “Der Inder” on the compilation album Kraut Jazz & Futurism. In 2020, the ensemble released the EP Pheremon Crumble Wax through the label Kryptox. Their subsequent recordings included the studio album All High Ways (2022). The group's music has been featured on the soundtrack of the film Die Maßnahme.
