Blinded Colony, a Swedish melodic death metal band from Karlshamn, was formed in January 2000 by guitarists Johan Blomstrom and Tobias Olsson along with singer Niklas Svensson. Initially known as Stigmata, the band released their first demo Painreceiver in 2000. After a hiatus and lineup changes, they returned with the demo Tribute to Chaos, which caught the attention of Italy-based Scarlet Records. In 2003, under the new name Blinded Colony, they released their debut studio album Divine. The band parted ways with Scarlet Records in 2004 and signed with Pivotal Rockordings in 2005. Their second full-length album Bedtime Prayers was released in 2007 and received positive reviews from underground metal circles. Blinded Colony toured extensively, including the Outcasts Over Europe tour supporting Ektomorf and former Scarlet Records label-mates Kayser. The band changed its name to the Blinded and released an EP in 2010.
