Sarah Mzali-Aristidou, also known as Sarah Aristidou, was born in Paris in 1991 and is a French-Cypriot operatic soprano singer. She began her musical training at Maîtrise de Radio France and studied musicology at the Sorbonne, graduating with a degree in music theory from the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Paris in 2011. Her breakthrough came during her studies at Universität der Künste Berlin and the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, where she performed world premieres by composers like Wolfgang Rihm and Jörg Widmann. In 2015, she premiered Aribert Reimann’s Cinq Fragments français de Rainer Maria Rilke at the Kissinger Sommer festival. Her debut album, Æther, was released in 2021, featuring works by Edgar Varèse, Francis Poulenc and Igor Strawinsky among others. She received the Luitpold Prize in 2021 and the Belmont Prize in 2022. In 2023, she released her second album, Enigma.
