Grace Ethel Knight, born on December 23, 1955, in Manchester, England, is an Australian vocalist and songwriter. She performed as a cabaret singer in folk clubs from 1976 before she relocated to Perth, Western Australia, in 1977. She gained prominence as the lead vocalist of the new-wave band Eurogliders, whose 1984 hit single “Heaven (Must Be There)” reached number 2 on the Australian charts and entered the United States Billboard Hot 100. After Eurogliders disbanded in 1989, she transitioned to jazz, collaborating with Vince Jones on the soundtrack album Come in Spinner (1990), which reached number 4 on the ARIA charts. Her solo debut album, Stormy Weather, appeared in 1991, followed by the albums Gracious (1993), Grace Knight Live (1996), Zeitgeist: The Spirit of the Time (2000), and Willow (2008). The album Willow earned a nomination for Best Jazz Album at the 2008 ARIA Music Awards. Her other releases include Keep Cool Fool (2012), Fragile (2016), and Grace (2018).
