Peat & Diesel, a Scottish band from Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis, formed in 2018. The trio—Calum “Boydie” MacLeod, Innes Scott and Uilly Macleod—gained initial traction through social media exposure following their Saturday sessions at home. Their music often humorously reflected island life, blending English with Gaelic words and phrases. Their first single "Salt and Pepper" was released in December 2018, followed by the album Uptown Fank in April 2019. In 2019, they won Live Act of the Year at the Scots Trad Music Awards. Their second studio album, Light My Byre, was released in January 2020 and was notably nominated for Best Album. The band also won Best Music Video for "Calum Dan’s Transit Van" in 2020.
