Blending the ferocity of technical death/thrash with the pulse of Latin American energy, Overtoun stands as one of the most forward-thinking young metal acts to emerge from Chile. Founded in 2014 by drummer Agustín Lobo and guitarist Matías Bahamondes, the lineup later expanded with vocalist Yoav Ruiz-Feingold (Atheist, Graviton) and bassist Matías Salas (Nuvian). Together, they channel both classic aggression and modern precision, injecting social awareness and emotional chaos into every riff.
Their debut, Centuries of Lies (2018), introduced an explosive fusion of social criticism and progressive thrash, paving the way for relentless touring and growth. The follow-up, This Darkness Feels Alive (2021), mastered by Flemming Rasmussen (Metallica), dove deeper into the psyche—an unfiltered storm of death metal intensity that earned them the 2022 Pulsar Award for Best Metal Artist.
With tours across Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Japan, Overtoun has solidified into a sonic weapon, sharp, dynamic, and unrelenting. Now, the band prepares to unleash their third and most ambitious album yet, Death Drive Anthropology (2026), produced by Martín Furia (Destruction), to be released by TimeToKill Records.
