The Capones were formed in Munich in 2003 as a ska ensemble, expanding later to include disco, funk, reggae, hip‑hop, and Latin influences. Their debut LP, Rhythm Elixir, was released in 2004 and combined studio and live tracks. In 2006, the band issued the studio album Mistico Capital, showcasing stronger reggae and Latino rhythms, followed by the 2010 release One, which blended their signature sound with electronic elements. They toured extensively across Europe, supporting acts such as The Busters and performing over 250 shows, while collaborating with artists like Roger Rekless and Boshi San. They disbanded in 2011 after a farewell concert in Munich, with proceeds partly donated to charity, and re‑formed in 2017 for a series of comeback performances.
