The Apple Pie Motherhood Band was an American psychedelic rock band formed in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1967. Originating from the garage rock outfit C.C. and the Chasers, the group released a single, "Put the Clock Back on the Wall", for the small Cori label in 1964. After relocating to New York City and adopting the moniker Sacred Mushroom, they changed their name to The Apple Pie Motherhood Band and signed with Atlantic Records in 1967. Their debut album, The Apple Pie Motherhood Band, was released in 1968, and the single "Long Live Apple Pie" received extensive airplay on Boston's WBZ Radio. The band performed extensively in 1968, opening for acts such as Jefferson Airplane and Paul Butterfield Blues Band. Their second album, Apple Pie, was released in 1969 but the band disbanded shortly thereafter to play in the counterculture musical production Hair.
