Sons of Lioth, a Belgian heavy metal band from Herenthout, was founded in 2005 by guitarists Sublimo and Supremo. Their initial release, Destination Earth, a five-song demo released in 2006, garnered positive reviews including one from Mindview. In 2009, the band released their first full album, Legends, which featured tracks such as "Spartacus" and "Last Unicorn", along with live versions of "Raise your fist" and a bonus track "Wrecking Ball". The band disbanded in 2010 for unknown reasons, leaving Legends without proper promotion. In November 2013, they released the EP Large Hadron Collider Spider, which received favorable reviews from Metalstorm and Infernal Masquerade. Their second EP, Judge Hammer, was released in 2015. Sons of Lioth has also been recognized as part of the New Wave of Traditional Heavy Metal (NWOTHM) movement, known for their strong lead vocals, easy-listening arrangements, and guitar solos.
