Kim Jong‑Kook, born on 25 April 1976 in Seoul, South Korea, is a vocalist and actor. He entered the music industry as one half of the duo Turbo in 1995. After Turbo disbanded in 2001, he launched a solo career with the December 2001 album Renaissance. His 2004 release Evolution produced the hit "One Man". In 2005, he released This is Me, selling over 300,000 copies and topping charts with the single "Lovable", earning Artist of the Year awards from SBS, KBS, and MBC. Following his military service he returned with Here I Am (2008) and Eleventh Story (2010). Kim expanded into television, becoming a permanent cast member of Running Man in 2010, which propelled him to pan‑Asian fame and led to concert tours in the United States as part of Running Man Brothers in 2014. He debuted as an actor in the 2015 drama The Producers, and later collaborated with former Turbo members on the 2015 album Again. In 2020, he made history by winning a daesang in both music and entertainment, and in 2023 he received the Baeksang Arts Award for Best Male Variety Performer.
