Volcano The Bear, an English improvisational/experimental group formed in Leicester in 1995, consisted of Aaron Moore, Nick Mott, Clarence Manuelo, and Daniel Padden. Their early work featured theatrical live performances and unconventional recording methods. The band self-released several cassettes and CDs before gaining attention from Steven Stapleton of Nurse With Wound, who released their first full-length album, Inhazer Decline, in 1998. Notable releases include The One Burned Ma (2000) and The Idea of Wood (2004). The band went on hiatus in the early 2000s, with members pursuing solo projects. Volcano The Bear reunited in 2006 to release Classic Erasmus Fusion and later Golden Rhythm / Ink Music (2012), which incorporated diverse musical elements, including Middle Eastern music and jazz.
