Sharon Next is an Austrian electro wave group from Vienna formed in 1995. The lineup included keyboardist Michael Ruin and vocalist Helmut Prixs, with live support from bassist Clemens Haipl and drummer Maximilian Schachner. In 2003, the band released their debut album Happiness for Hire. Their second album, Fast Farewell, was issued in 2010 on Danse Macabre, followed by a 2012 tour with Diary of Dreams. The 2012 EP Der Hase topped the EAC charts and entered the DAC charts, featuring remixes by Nico Wieditz and Sebastian Komor. In 2015, the CD Auto.One was released, and in 2019 the group recorded Hansa, Here We Come at Berlin’s Hansa Studios, revisiting earlier songs and releasing it in 2020. Michael Ruin passed away in March 2024.
