Howard Michael Jones, also known as John Howard, was born on April 9, 1953, in Bury, Lancashire, England, and is an English singer-songwriter, pianist, recording artist, and published author. He began playing the piano at four years old and received classical training from seven. In the early 1970s, he adopted the professional name Jon Howard and started performing his own songs at universities and folk clubs. His breakthrough came in 1975 with the release of his debut album Kid in a Big World on CBS Records. Despite initial setbacks, including lack of radio airplay for singles "Goodbye Suzie" and "Family Man", he continued his career, releasing numerous albums and EPs through the years. Notable works include The Dangerous Hours (2005), In the Room Upstairs (2007), and Atmospheres & Soundscapes (2012).
