Sweek, a Belgian post-rock band from Andenne, formed in 2000. Initially known for their pop sound with vocals, Sweek evolved into an atmospheric post-rock style reminiscent of Mogwai and Godspeed You Black Emperor!. The group's lineup includes guitarists Olivier Sorée and David Hougardy, bassist Pierre Constant, violinist François Sauveur, cellist Florence Sauveur, and drummer Damien Sorée. In 2001, Sweek won several prizes at the Concours-Circuit competition in Brussels, including an award from the Communauté française de Belgique. The band released their debut album The Shooting Star's Sigh... in 2003 on Carte Postale Records. Sweek performed extensively across Belgium and internationally in France and Germany, appearing at notable festivals such as the Dour Festival (2001, 2003, 2006) and Ward'in Rock. They released the album, The Unbelievable Cinematic Crash, in 2006, featuring collaborations with Han Stubbe of DAAU. After a hiatus, they returned to perform live in January 2012.
