Kopecky, an American indie-rock band, was formed in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2007. The group initially consisted of Kelsey Kopecky, Gabe Simon, Steven Holmes, Corey Oxendine, Markus Midkiff, and David Krohn. Their first EP, Embraces, was released in 2007, followed by The Disaster and Of Epic Proportions in 2010. After signing with ATO Records in 2012, their debut album, Kids Raising Kids, was rereleased in 2013. The album featured the Top 10 radio hit "Heartbeat" and received notable mentions in publications such as The New York Times and Paste. Kopecky toured extensively across the United States and Canada, performing at major festivals like Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza, and sharing stages with artists including Devotchka and The Lumineers. In 2015, they released their second album, Drug for the Modern Age, via ATO Records. The band announced a break in July 2016.
