Helheim, a Norwegian black‑metal group from Bergen, was formed in 1992 by V'gandr and H'grimnir. The band released its first demo in 1993, followed by Jormundgand in 1995 on Solistitium Records, and Av Norrøn Ætt in 1997. In 1999, Blod & Ild appeared on Ars Metalli, and 2003’s Yersinia Pestis was issued by Massacre Records. After signing with Dark Essence and Karisma, the group issued The Journeys and the Experiences of Death (2006), Kaoskult (2008), and Heiðindómr ok mótgangr (2011). Their 2015 album RaunijaR and subsequent releases LandawarijaR (2017), Rignir (2019), and WoduridaR (2021) solidified Helheim’s presence on the international metal circuit, with tours across Europe and a 2021 split with Taake.
