Carnival In Coal was a French avant-garde extreme metal band from Amiens, Picardie, formed in 1995 by Arno Strobl and Axel Wursthorn. Their debut demo Sramik was released in 1997, followed by their first album Vivalavida in 1999 on War on Majors. The band gained attention for blending extreme metal with diverse styles like zouk and disco. Notable releases include French Cancan (1999), an album of reimagined tracks, and Fear Not Carnival In Coal (2001). In 2005, they released Collection Prestige under Elitist/Earache Records. The band toured extensively in 2006, performing at festivals such as Hellfest, Brutal Assault, and Killer Fest. The band disbanded in 2007.
