Abest is a German post-metal band from Göttingen. Formed in 2011, the ensemble consists of lead vocalist and bassist Patrick, lead vocalist and guitarist Joscha and drummer Rezy. Following its formation, the group released its debut recording, a demo, in 2012. Their recording history featured the studio album Asylum (2014), which was produced by Jan Oberg and distributed in the United States by the label Deathwish Inc. After various membership changes and the release of the EP Last (2016), the ensemble issued the studio recording Bonds of Euphoria (2019). In 2022, the project issued the studio recording Molten Husk through the label Moment of Collapse Records. The group’s musical style draws influences from the acts Isis and Neurosis and has been compared to that of extreme metal bands including Nagelfar and Full of Hell. During its career, the ensemble has performed on tours alongside acts including Downfall of Gaia, Cult Leader and Sun Worship.
