Jono Jones was raised in Guatemala. Jono began making music at a young age and became a part of several musical projects in his hometown throughout his childhood. He graduated from high school and began studying music professionally, to pursue a musical career. Later, moved to Viena, where he co-founded the band “The Express Train” alongside his long time friend, Harold Taylor.
He wrote songs for several musical projects he was a part of and started producing songs for himself.
He instantly became an independent artist, moving across Viena, Guatemala and New York for shows, networking, collaborations and inspiration.
In May 2014, he released his first single “Swimming” featuring the talented and friend, Estefani Brolo. This song got Jono on the spotlight across central america and entered the top 20 on Guatemala’s radio.
In March 2015, he released his second single entitled, “We Are Kids” which got him again on the top 20 in Guatemala’s radio scene, top 100 songs of the year in central america and radio play on El Salvador’s radio Femenina. On December that year he went on a mini tour through El Salvador with the local band, Tónico 86.
Besides playing shows throughout different countries, he played the central american music festival “EMF" on April 2015 and he opened the show for “Natalia Lafourcade” on July 2016.
In October 2016, he released “We Go Up” as a collaboration with the producer, Bumont. The track instantly received great reviews and became No. 1 on Guatemala’s radio for several weeks.
Jono Jones music became noted for displaying a wide variety of styles and influences but maintaining that funky R&B vibe to it.
Currently Jono is finishing his debut EP entitled “The Fight” which is due for 2017 alongside several collaborations and shows.
