Régis Huby, born on June 22, 1969, in Rennes, France, is a violinist, composer, improviser, and musical arranger. His early fascination with Bach's music led him to explore jazz-rock and improvisation during his studies at the Conservatoire de Rennes. In 1998, he released his debut album Le Sentiment des Brutes, showcasing his unique blend of traditional, rock, and improvised music. Régis Huby collaborated extensively with notable musicians such as Louis Sclavis and George Russell, and in 2006, he released Simple Sound. He co-founded the Quatuor IXI and directed the musical project "Nuit Américaine." In 2016, he formed the Quartet Equal Crossing. Régis Huby's work spans various genres, including jazz, rock, and minimalist music, reflecting his diverse influences and collaborations.
