Trolebús is a Mexican rock group formed in 1985 in Mexico City. The original lineup consisted of Enrique Montes, Fernando Moreno, Felipe Moreno, Choluis, and Demex, who convened to rehearse by tapping into public lighting. Their debut album Trolebús en Sentido Contrario (1987) established a sound influenced by blues and the Rupestre movement. The singles “Barata y Descontón” and “Balada Chilanga” received airplay on Radio Educación and Estéreo Joven. Subsequent recordings included the albums Urbanicidio (1992), Días Oxidados (1993), Delirium Trolems (1996), and La Alcantarilla (2000). These releases showcased a sound that incorporated metal, funk, and progressive elements while maintaining a lyrical focus on urban life. After disbanding in 2000, the group resumed activity in 2007 and performed at venues including Tianguis Cultural del Chopo and Foro del Sindicato Rupestre. In 2024, they issued the live digital album Vuelta en U.
