Doyle is an American horror punk band from Lodi, New Jersey, established in 2012. The ensemble was founded by guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein and vocalist Alex Story after von Frankenstein dissolved his previous group, Gorgeous Frankenstein. The initial lineup consisted of von Frankenstein on guitars, Story on vocals, drummer Dr. Chud, and bassist 'Left Hand' Graham. Their recording career began with the debut studio recording Abominator (2013), which was produced by von Frankenstein, with lyrics written by Story. The ensemble postponed their promotional tour due to von Frankenstein's commitments with Danzig, and subsequently cancelled a 2014 tour with the band Gwar following the death of lead vocalist Dave Brockie. After several personnel changes, including the addition of bassist Brandon Strate and drummer Brandon Pertzborn, they released their second studio recording Doyle II: As We Die (2017). The group reached professional recognition for their theatrical stage appearance, which features makeup inspired by vintage horror movies like The Wolf Man.
