Winifred is the alt-pop artist project of gold-certified Australian singer-songwriter and producer, Kate W Martin, whose ethereal and cutting sound has been shaped by years of experience on stages and in studios around the globe. Blending crystalline sound design with introspective lyrics, Winifred has carved a standalone space for herself across Australia’s burgeoning musical landscape.
Her ‘Carpet of Flowers’ (2024) EP, was spotlighted by Rolling Stone AU/NZ as one of the “best Australian releases of the week” and received high praise from Line of Best Fit, Notion and One’s To Watch. Winifred’s catalogue has become highly sought after across multimedia with multiple sync placements on Fortnite, Love Island UK and a global brand deal for Shiseido's ‘Ginza Night’ fragrance.
Lending her voice to a number of international collaborators, Winifred’s spectral sound has graced tracks alongside British artists such as Tutara Peak and Kloyd, earning plaudits from the likes of Sian Eleri, Jess Iszatt and a feature on ‘NME 100’ in 2026.
Working alongside acclaimed composers like Power Glove and Swell Studios, 2026 saw a career-defining moment for Winifred with the release of ‘Can’t Get Enough’. A Bad Company cover released by Island Records, the single featured on the debut season of viral Amazon Prime series, ‘Off Campus’ and garnered over 500,000 streams in its first week of release.
Riding this surge of momentum, 2026 will see Winifred begin to roll out her debut album, written and created alongside an eclectic array of trusted co-producers including Mark Zito, Lucyblomkamp, JT McRae, Harvey Carter, Sam Sakr and Daktyl.
