Gianluca Capuano (born 30 January 1968 in Milan, Italy) is an Italian conductor and organist. He studied organ, composition and conducting at the Milan Conservatory. His first major recording, Galuppi: Forgotten Arias of a Venetian Master (2016), was followed by Carissimi: Jonas, Lauda Sion & Missa “Ut queant laxis” (2017) and Donizetti: Pigmalione – Mayr: Che originali! (2018). Gianluca Capuano’s breakthrough came in August 2016 when he stepped in to conduct Norma with Cecilia Bartoli at the Edinburgh Festival, leading to engagements at the Opéra de Monte‑Carlo and the Théâtre des Champs‑Élysées. In March 2019 Gianluca Capuano became principal conductor of the Musicians of the Prince‑Monaco. Gianluca Capuano's direction of Alcina at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino earned him the 2022 Premio Abbiati for best conductor. Following releases with Catherine King, Javier Camarena, Tobias Koch and the Concerto Köln, and Vardhuhi Abrahamyan, he released the album Vivaldi: Concerti per vari strumenti II (2026), accompagnied by Les Musiciens du Prince-Monaco, which reached UK and French Classical Albums charts.
