DESURABBITS was formed in Tokyo in November 2013 by founder and producer Akira Kanzaki, known as Bucho, together with Yuzu Okawa, Emi Mochizuki and Karin Yasui, who were previously members of the Usa Usa Girls Club; the group’s name derived from the Japanese word for rabbit, usagi, and death metal influences. Their breakthrough came with the debut single "恋する季節" released on 2 April 2014, followed by the single "お祭りJAPAN!!告白Night" on 16 July 2014. The first studio album, 第一次うさぎ大戦, was issued on 3 September 2014, and the second, 第二次うさぎ大戦, followed on 3 May 2016; both albums featured a mix of death‑metal, J‑pop and electronic elements. In 2016 the group announced a temporary split as DEATHRABBITS and later re‑emerged as DESURABBITS, releasing the single "Anger" on 16 November 2016. Their third album, JUMP, was released on 31 March 2021 and entered the Oricon charts at Number 86, while the single "一瞬で" debuted at Number 20 on the Oricon singles chart on 15 April 2020, marking their highest chart position. Collaborative performances included shows with Ladybaby and Deadlift Lolita, and a 2018 crowdfunding‑supported concert in Taipei. On 20 June 2021, DESURABBITS performed their final live concert at Zepp Haneda before disbanding, concluding a career noted for its genre‑blending innovation and chart presence.
