Mean Machine were a Japanese rock ensemble from Tokyo established in 1998. The group consisted of the musicians Chara, Mayumi Chiwaki, Ayumi Ito, Yukarie, and Yuki. They achieved professional recognition for a musical style characterized as a side project where members played instruments new to them. Their recording career began with the track "Sūhā" (2001) which reached number 18 in Japan. The ensemble achieved professional recognition for the debut studio recording Cream (2001) which reached number 7. Their discography included the track "Knock on You" (2001) which reached number 38. The ensemble became inactive in 2001.
