Fuchsteufelswild is a German folk-rock group founded in Regensburg in spring 2014 by Matthias “Mazze” Huber and Basti “Cordoban” Brenner. The group emerged from medieval market music influences and experimented with rap, Irish folk, Bavarian brass, and modern rock. Their debut demo Um Haaresbreite was self-released in 2014, followed by the studio album Weltenmeer in February 2016, which featured guest musicians such as Norri Drescher and Ben Metzner. In 2016, the live DVD …um Welten mehr! captured the band’s stage presence. The studio album König Zeiger, released in 2018, shifted toward a rock-oriented sound while retaining medieval themes.
