Since 2006, Monolyth has made a place for itself on the French underground scene.
With two demos and a first self-produced album (but not distributed) in 2007 (“Catch the Sun”), the group quickly found its way by offering Melodic Death Metal tinged of Metalcore influenced by bands such as Soilwork, In Flames, The Haunted, Machine Head or Killswitch Engage.
In 2011, the group recorded “The Forwarder”, a 3-track EP made available to fans as a free MP3 download.
The band split up and reformed at the end of 2012 around Amaury (vocals) and Julien (guitar).
Between 2013 and 2015, they resume concerts, and notably makes its entrance onto the Parisian stages during the 2014/2015 edition of the Headbang Contest.
In May 2015, Monolyth had the honor of opening for Gojira at the festival Zicophonies of Clermont!
Batt (drums), Tristan (guitar) and Fafa (bass) arrive in 2016 and it is in this form that the combo will perform 3 tours (in 2016 with Blaakyum, No Return, Mors Principium Est and Onslaught, in 2018 with Deus Ex Machina and in 2019 with Nemost and Serenius) and around forty concerts.
“A Bitter End - A Brave New World” is released on September 25, 2018 with the help of Ellie Promotion and benefits from distribution via Season of Mist which offers Monolyth a new and promising visibility.
At the end of 2021, Vanessa takes over from Fafa on bass and Monolyth returns to the stage and composition.
On November 29, 2022, the group announced, with a new video for the title “The Neverending Beginning”, the release of their new album “We’ve Caught the Sun”, due on March 3rd 2023.
Two more singles were released: “Into Speechlessness” on February 9 and “My Blackest Days” on May 12th, 2023.
The group returns to the stage to defend this album!
In the summer of 2023, Tristan and Vanessa leave the group.
Tristan is replaced by Larry, guitarist/singer of Serenius and long time friend of the band, and the search for a new bassist is underway.
