John-Nicolas Sellekaers, known professionally as Xingu Hill, is a Canadian-born electronic musician born on December 19, 1973, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, who later moved to Brussels, Belgium. He began his music career as a DJ and electronic musician in the early 1990s. His first project, Xingu Hill, started around 1994 when he was signed by Nova Zembla Records for three albums: Maps of the Impossible (1995), (Fiction) (1996), and Relay (1997). In 1999, Xingu Hill released Alterity on the Ant-Zen label imprint Hymen Records. He collaborated with Black Lung for the EP The Andronechron Incident in 1999 (reissued on CD in 2002) and with Tamarin and Brian Evenson for the soundtrack of Altmann's Tongue in 2005. Xingu Hill released a retrospective compilation, Strange Echoes 95 - 99, in 2021 and his first new material in 20 years, Grigri Pavilion, in 2023.
