Indie singer-songwriter Kaleb Rudy is set to release his debut EP on May 17th, 2024. Announced by Out Magazine, the project includes visualizers for each song and depicts a love story between two drifters battling addiction.
Citing Jewel’s Pieces of You as a formative influence, Kaleb keeps traditional balladry at the core of his music while exploring a variety of sounds. His self-directed visuals further immerse the audience in an idiosyncratic world of vagrant cowboys, hard drugs, and tender intimacy.
The Los Angeles-based artist was born and partly raised in Grand Junction, Colorado before moving across Virginia, Montana, Iowa, and California by the age of 12. Small rural towns and his father’s profession as a Christian pastor created a challenging backdrop for Kaleb’s emerging queer identity. He found a variety of artistic outlets, from songwriting to acting to filmmaking. All of these passions coalesce on his upcoming visual EP, My Own Volition.
