Drums Off Chaos, a percussion ensemble, was formed in Cologne, Germany, in the 1980s by drummer Jaki Liebezeit, who assembled a collective that later narrowed to a quartet of Liebezeit, Reiner Linke, Maf Retter and Manos Tsangaris by 2000. The group gained attention through improvised sessions and a 1986 soundtrack contribution to a Cologne film trailer. In 2011, they released an album with Jens-Uwe Beyer, followed by the EPs Compass in 2017 and Centre in 2018. The group performed at festivals such as Romanischer Sommer and Kilkenny Arts Festival, and collaborated with Maria de Alvear, Thomas Kessler, Jens‑Uwe Beyer, and Dominik von Senger.
