La Maison Tellier is a French folk‑country band founded in Rouen, Normandy, in 2004 by Helmut Tellier (real name Yannick Marais, vocals, guitar) and Raoul Tellier (Sébastien Miel, banjo, mandolin, guitar, keyboards). They took their name from the eponymous short story by Guy de Maupassant and released their self‑titled EP in 2005, followed by the studio albums La Maison Tellier (2006), Second Souffle (2007), L'Art de la Fugue (2010), Beauté pour Tous (2013), Beauté Partout – En Concert (2014), Avalanche (2016), Primitifs Modernes (2019), and Atlas (2022). The group launched its own label Messalina in 2018, added drummer Jeff Tellier in 2022, and issued its eighth album Timidité des Arbres in 2026. It has continued to tour internationally and maintained a reputation for intimate live performances.
