Rasta Bigoud is a Breton reggae band formed in Douarnenez, France, in 1996. Blending Jamaican reggae traditions with Breton musical influences, the group draws inspiration from the sea, surfing, and diving. Their lyrics combine humor, humanism, and social satire while avoiding moralizing. Distinguished by a percussion-driven sound, Rasta Bigoud built a strong live reputation through nearly 800 performances across France, sharing stages with both French and international artists. Their energetic concerts feature extended dub passages and lively ska rhythms. In the studio, their reggae style reflects the influence of British acts such as Steel Pulse and Linton Kwesi Johnson, with albums like Breizh Zion (1999), Kana Diskan (2001), 100% Pure Butter (2002), and Bigoud Commando (2004).
