María Kim Grand, born in 1992 in Geneva, Switzerland, is a jazz musician, visual artist, and educator. After receiving a soprano sax in 2002, she studied with Ohad Talmor, Steve Coleman and Antoine Roney and attended the City College of New York. Her first release as a leader was the Tetrawind EP in 2017 under Biophilia Records, highlighted by NYC Jazz Record as one of the best debut tracks of 2017. She followed with the full‑length Magdalena in 2018, praised by Billboard as a highly regarded jazz album of that year, and Reciprocity in 2021, noted for its conceptual rigor by Jazz Magazine. She toured extensively across Europe, the United States and South America, performing at festivals such as North Sea Jazz and Newport.
