Maxeen was an American alternative rock and pop-punk band from Long Beach, California. Formed in 2002, the group included vocalist and bassist Tom Bailey, guitarist Robb Torres, and drummer Jay Skowronek, with founding guitarist Shannon McMurray leaving the lineup in 2006. The band debuted with the live EP Save Your Life (2003) and signed with SideOneDummy Records to release their eponymous studio album, Maxeen (2003). In 2004, the band signed with Warner Bros. Records and recorded the album Hello Echo, which was ultimately not distributed and instead released in September 2006 as Hello Echo (Tour Edition). Maxeen toured with acts such as Relient K, Rocket Summer, and Jonezetta. Several of their songs featured on video game soundtracks, including “Please” (2003) on Burnout 3: Takedown and MVP Baseball 2004, and “Block Out the World” (2003) on Burnout Paradise. The band released the digital EP Life in the Gears (2007) before dissolving shortly after Skowronek's departure on March 13, 2008.
