Dreams So Real is an American alternative rock band from Athens, Georgia. The group was formed in 1983 and was led by songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist Barry Marler, alongside bassist and backing vocalist Trent Allen and drummer Drew Worsham. Their debut single, “Everywhere Girl” (1985), was produced by Peter Buck of R.E.M. and achieved significant success on college radio. Buck also produced their debut album, Father's House (1986). In 1988, they signed with Arista Records and released the album Rough Night in Jericho. The title track, “Rough Night in Jericho”, peaked at number 28 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart, and the album reached number 150 on the Billboard Hot 200. The band followed with the album Gloryline (1990) before being dropped by their record label. They subsequently self-released the collection of outtakes and rarities, Nocturnal Omissions (1992), and disbanded shortly thereafter. The members reunited for performances in 2009, 2012, and 2019.
