Raland Scruggs, known professionally as One Be Lo, was born on November 7, 1976, in Pontiac, Michigan. He is an alternative hip hop artist who gained prominence as one half of the rap duo Binary Star, which he formed with Senim Silla while in prison at age 18. Upon his release in 1998, they released their debut album Waterworld. In late 2002, One Be Lo released a limited pressing of Project F.E.T.U.S., a compilation of previously unreleased tracks. In 2005, One Be Lo signed with Fat Beats Records and released his solo album S.O.N.O.G.R.A.M. (Sounds Of Nahshid Originate Good Rhymes And Music), which was critically acclaimed. Subsequent albums include The R.E.B.I.R.T.H. in 2007 and L.A.B.O.R. in 2011.
