Alejandro Manuel Palacio Zawady, born on June 5, 1985, in Santa Marta, Colombia, is a Colombian singer-songwriter and actor. He began guitar lessons at age eight and vocal training at age eleven under Judith Brassard. At age seventeen, he chose to pursue a music career and traveled to the United States, eventually moving to New York where he was recruited by Israel Romero to join the vallenato group Binomio de Oro de América. During his four-year tenure with the ensemble, he contributed to the albums Grafiti de amor (2005) and Impredecible (2006), both of which received Grammy nominations in the Vallenato-Cumbia category. As a songwriter, his tracks “Jamás Imaginé” and “Impredecible” reached the top of the radio charts across Colombia and Latin America. He later launched a solo career, releasing his debut solo album Condenado a quererte (2010), featuring the single “Contenido Original”, followed by the album La voz del ídolo (2013). He also established an acting career, starring in the television series Oye bonita and the telenovela Rafael Orozco, el ídolo.
